Local business owner has Olympics fever

Can’t make it to London for the Summer Olympics? Make plans to visit “The Most British Spot in Grapevine” and pick up some groceries with a very British accent.

The British Emporium, a British grocery & gift store established in 1992, will serve complimentary English tea and refreshments from 11am-4pm this Saturday, July 28.

According to store owner Sheela Kadam of Argyle, “The focus of the world is once again on London, England, and there’s been a lot of interest in our products. Many are coming in for supplies for Olympic watching parties. Those who enjoy tea come in for a little taste of England’s favorite drink and many come in out of curiosity to see what’s available at a British store in Grapevine of all places!”

The British Emporium even caught the attention of NBC Olympic Commentator Lewis Johnson who recently hosted an Olympic preview event at the store with Gold and Silver USA Team Olympian Jon Drummond prior to both gentlemen leaving for London to cover the Games.

“The British community are all very proud that London is hosting the Olympics this summer. We’re delighted to bring a ‘Brit’ of that excitement to historic Grapevine,” said Kadam.
