Lewisville ISD Education Foundation’s 4th Annual Golf Classic will be held on Thursday, June 7, at Tour 18 Golf Club in Flower Mound.
In 2011, the event raised more than $36,000 to support students and teachers within the Lewisville ISD.
With this year’s expanded program to include a morning and afternoon scramble golf format, the foundation expects to double the attendance to more than 300 community members, as well as double the money raised.
In addition to golfers competing for top honors and prizes, participants will be treated to breakfast at the club, lunch complements of Abuelo’s, dessert from Nothing Bundt Cakes, as well as gift bags brimming with great golf items. Cowboys’ legend Everson Walls (#24), as well as other celebrities are scheduled to appear for pictures and autographs for sponsors and players.
Golfers will have a chance to win more than 100 prizes and silent auction items, including autographed memorabilia, Apple iPad, Kindle Fire, wireless phones, as well as concert tickets and vacation getaways, including two round trip airline tickets donated by Southwest Airlines.
Supporters unable to attend the event can still participate in the auction by signing up at www.lefgolfclassic.org. Once registered, users can bid on these items using text messaging on their wireless phone through the QTEGO application.
For the second year, a helicopter golf ball drop will be a highlight of the event, providing golfers and non-golfers alike a unique and fun opportunity to win a $1,000 Visa Debit Card. At 1 p.m., the helicopter, sponsored by Flower Mound-based Cornerstone Staffing, will fly over the 18th hole and release the marked golf balls.
Golfers will be challenged on the fifth and 12th holes, where they will have an opportunity to win a new car from Toyota of Lewisville and Huffines Chevrolet. Golfers who achieve a hole-in-one on either of these championship Par 3 holes will take home a new car.
This year, the presenting sponsor for the 4th Annual Golf Classic is PBK, Inc.
“The reason we are involved with LEF is because the money raised goes right back to teachers and students,” said Irene Nigaglioni, Partner/National Planning Director at PBK, Inc.
This event has become the second largest fundraiser for the Lewisville ISD Education Foundation behind Evening for Education: A Culinary Experience, which will take place Sept. 8, 2012.
