Lantana board members take office

Bob Baird and Kurt Sewell were sworn in Wednesday night as board members on Lantana’s Fresh Water Supply District #6.

Baird, 65, owns a Lantana-based home inspection and pest control company and is an Army veteran.

Sewell, 42, works for the Lantana Golf Club as a course superintendent and was one of the first residents of Lantana, moving into the community in September 2001.

Baird and Sewell joined board members Donna Robichaux and Max Miller, along with Jim VanVickle, who was re-elected to his second term this month.

After the pair was sworn in, board members nominated each other for positions on the board, as is customary after each election.

VanVickle was named President; Robichaux, Vice President; Sewell, Treasurer; Baird, Secretary; and Miller, Assistant Secretary.

In Lantana’s sparsely-populated Fresh Water Supply District #7, newly elected members Todd Beggs, Jim Lieber, and Steve Martini were sworn on May 15.

Their new board titles are as follows: David Ware, President; Todd Beggs, Treasurer; Jim Lieber, Secretary; Andrew Kloser, Vice President; and Steve Martini, Assistant Secretary.

The fresh water supply districts are a local government organized under Texas state law and provide retail water sales, sanitary sewer collection services, along with maintenance of streets, signs, sidewalks, drainage, and water and sewer facilities to Lantana.

The two boards meet monthly at the Lantana District office in Bartonville Town Center. Visit their website here.
