Lantana eighth-grader Jade Mongo, a student at Harpool Middle School, won the 2012 Denton ISD District Spelling Bee. Jade defeated David Brumbaugh (back), an eighth-grader at McMath Middle School, in the 28th round of the spelling bee.
Both students will represent Denton ISD in the Denton County Spelling Bee at 6:30 p.m. this Thursday at the district’s Professional Development Center.
