Argyle Water imposes restrictions

The Argyle Water Supply Corporation initiated Stage 2 of its Drought Contingency Plan on July 15 due to high demand and lack of rainfall.

Under Stage 2, outdoor watering is prohibited between the hours of 5:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. and from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily.

Residential users are allowed to water their lawns on Tuesday and Saturday for addresses ending in even numbers. and odd ending addresses can water on Wednesday and Sunday.

Schools, commercial and other users are allowed to irrigate on Monday and Thursday.

Argyle Water Supply officials said in a press release, “We urge all AWSC customers to only water landscape one day per week, and to delay the installation of any new landscape. Use of soaker hoses for foundations, drip systems and spot watering with hoses is permitted at any time. Most established landscape can survive with one watering per week.
