Brazen burglars smashed the glass doors of four Flower Mound businesses early Sunday morning causing nearly $4,000 in damage and making off with over $6,000 worth of cash, merchandise, and personal items.
Flower Mound Police responded to a burglar alarm at 4:20 a.m. Sunday at Mooyah Burgers and Fries, 2704 Cross Timbers Road. Arriving officers found the glass door shattered.
Patrol officers later learned of three additional burglaries about a mile east of Mooyah in Parker Square that shared the same characteristics.
Crush! A Wine Boutique, Square One Café and Anna and Friends Salon were all hit at the mall.
Crush! owner Leonora Simmons said that the burglars took their time in her store.
“The thieves had enough time to smoke a cigar and drink a bottle of wine, before taking off with cash, expensive wine, a TV and my flip phone,” she said.
Simmons, who opened her wine shop in 2007, added that this was the first time her store had been broken into.
No suspects have been identified in the case so far and the Flower Mound Police Department is asking anyone with information to contact them at 972-539-0525 or on the anonymous tip line at 972-874-3307.
