Deadly rollover crash under investigation

Argyle Police suspect that alcohol played a role in a single vehicle accident that claimed the life of a Denton man Wednesday night.

Police said that Larry Renfro, 55, was driving a Ford pickup eastbound on FM 407 near Harpole Road around 9:50 p.m. when he went into the opposing lane of traffic, overcorrected and lost control of his truck.

The truck slammed into a wrought iron fence and stone pillars of a landscape company and rolled over, ejecting Renfro.

Evidence obtained at the accident scene led investigators to believe that alcohol and speed were contributing factors in the accident, according to Argyle Police Chief William T. Tackett.

Toxicology results are pending with the Medical Examiner’s Office.
