Gov. Rick Perry has appointed Jonathan Bailey of Highland Village as judge of the 431st Judicial District Court in Denton County for a term to expire at the next general election.
Bailey is an attorney at Lewisville-based Kuzmich Law Firm PC. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, Denton County Bar Association, Texas and Denton County Criminal Defense Lawyer associations, and a past member of the Texas County and District Attorneys Association.
He is a board member of the Highland Village Parks and Recreation Board and the Denton County Bail Bond Board, and a governing committee member of the Texas Automobile Insurance Plan Association.
Bailey is also a volunteer for CASA of Denton County and the Highland Village Baseball and Softball Association. He served in the U.S. Air Force Reserve.
He received a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University and a law degree from the Texas Tech University School of Law.
The appointment is subject to state Senate confirmation.
