Flower Mound police identify suspects in armed robbery

Two suspects were arrested in Flower Mound after allegedly robbing a man at gunpoint on Saturday afternoon and committing a second robbery in Lewisville shortly afterward.

Charged with robbery in connection with the incident are David Michael Miller, 17, of Lewisville and Kanon Morgan Vanguilder, 18, of Flower Mound.

Flower Mound police responded to an armed robbery report just after 3 p.m. in the parking lot of a restaurant in the 2200 block of Cross Timbers Road.

The victim told officers a white male in his early 20s, with white paint on his face, pointed a gun at him and demanded his wallet. He complied and the suspect fled south on Morriss Road.

While searching for the suspect, officers obtained a description and license plate number of the suspect’s vehicle and a second person that was possibly involved in the offense from a third-party witness.

Police located the suspect’s vehicle at approximately 4:43 p.m. in the 3500 block of Long Prairie Road and took the suspects into custody without incident.

During the investigation, detectives also were able to link both Miller and Vanguilder to another robbery that occurred later in Lewisville.

Detectives from both Lewisville and Flower Mound are continuing to work on the investigation. Additional charges against Miller and Vanguilder are pending, according to police.
