08-01-2012 4:45 p.m. – Theft – 6000 blk. Plantation, Double Oak – Complainant reported his class ring as stolen. Ring was later determined to be at the residence.
08-01-2012 9:00 a.m. – Disturbance – 300 blk. Brown Cliff Ct., Double Oak – A resident reported threatening behavior by an adult male.
08-01-2012 12:42 a.m. – Alarm – 400 blk. US Hwy 377 S., Argyle – Double Oak PD assisted Denton Cnty. Deputy with investigation of a building found open on an alarm call.
08-02-2012 7:18 p.m. – Disturbance / Shots Fired / Major Accident – Copper Canyon – Double Oak PD and Bartonville PD responded to a distraught person / shots fired call in Copper Canyon at the request of the Denton County Sheriff’s Office. While enroute to the call further information was developed that the distraught person was on a motorcycle leaving the scene towards Chinn Chapel Rd. Responding officers were informed that the upset person had wrecked the motorcycle a few blocks from his residence. Officers found a crowd of people gathered around the subject advising him to be still. Subject was found to be unarmed and was transported to the hospital for injuries sustained in the accident. A State Police Trooper conducted the investigation into the traffic accident and a Denton County Deputy conducted a further investigation into the disturbance.
08-02-2012 10:02 p.m. – Disturbance / Major Accident – 2200 blk. FM 407 – Double Oak PD assisted Bartonville PD with investigation into an accident caused by an upset person striking a tree with his mother’s vehicle causing a car fire. Subject had been involved in an earlier disturbance with his mother taking her car without permission. Subject was taken to the hospital via Care Flight. DOPD officer remained on scene directing traffic until Bartonville completed their investigation.
08-03-2012 6:55 p.m. – Major Accident / DWI Arrest – 500 blk. Waketon Rd., Double Oak – A motorist struck two other vehicles, causing damage, before coming to a stop. Upon further investigation it was determined that the driver was alleged to be intoxicated. Driver was taken into custody and transported to Denton County Jail.
08-04-2012 11:36 a.m. – Parking Violation – 6200 blk. Plantation, Double Oak – Tractor Trailer found parked in violation of Town ordinance. Driver was contacted by the reporting officer and agreed to remove the truck from the neighborhood.
08-05-2012 2:14 p.m. – Disturbance – 500 blk. Oakwood, Bartonville – Assisted Bartonville PD with investigation into a disturbance call.
08-05-2012 2:40 a.m. – Intoxicated Person – 400 blk. N Hwy 377, Argyle – Assisted Argyle PD with an intoxicated male found on the side of the roadway. Subject was released to his mother.
08-06-2012 5: 12 p.m. – Lockout – 100 blk. Lake Trail Dr., Double Oak – A father unintentionally left his child in a locked, air conditioned, and running truck. Double Oak Fire Department was summoned and opened the door.
08-06-2012 4:15 p.m. – Warrant Arrest – FM 407 and Carruth Rd., Double Oak – Double Oak PD assisted Denton County SO on an arrest involving traffic warrants.
08-10-2012 9:50 a.m. – Residential Alarm / Open Door – 100 blk. Kings Rd., Double Oak – Officer responded to an alarm call and found an open door. No signs of criminal activity. Homeowner responded and secured the residence.
08-10-2012 4:04 p.m. – Alarm – 100 blk. Willow Oak Ct., Double Oak – Officer responded to an alarm call and found an unknown person on scene. Further investigation determined that the person who set off the alarm was a pest control person who had permission, and the key, to be at the house.
08-11-2012 2:18 p.m. – Civil Standby – 100 blk. Brown Cliff Ct., Double Oak – A homeowner was involved in a dispute with a lawn care company regarding payment for service. Both parties eventually reached an agreement regarding payment.
08-11-2012 7:44 p.m. – Disturbance – 100 blk. Trailing Oaks Dr., Double Oak – Disturbance (verbal only) between an adult daughter and her parents.
08-12-2012 10:43 p.m. – Suspicious Person – 1000 blk. Montgomery Way, Lantana – Residents reported a suspicious vehicle occupied by one person, parked on a residential street. Upon further investigation by a Sheriff’s Deputy and a Double Oak Police Officer it was determined to be an adult male upset about a personal matter.
08-13-2012 11:44 p.m. – Residential Alarm – 11500 blk. Lantana Trl., Lantana – Double Oak Officer responded to an alarm call when no county units were available. No evidence of criminal activity was detected. Building was secure.
08-15-2012 10:42 a.m. – Criminal Trespass – 200 blk. Simmons Rd., Double Oak – Resident found a Verizon employee in his barn without permission.
08-15-2012 11:14 a.m. – Solicitor Complaint – 100 blk. West Carruth Ln., Double Oak – Unknown person going door to door soliciting. Officer was unable to locate the solicitor.
08-15-2012 4:23 a.m. – Road Blockage – McMakin Rd., Double Oak – A passing motorist reported a tree in the roadway. Officer cleared the blockage.
