The Texas Department of Transportation is giving residents an opportunity to offer input on its planned FM 156 improvements with a public meeting in Roanoke on Thursday.
According to TxDOT, the department is “developing potential roadway alternatives to reconstruct and widen FM 156 from two to four lanes” from Hwy 114 to Intermodal Parkway.
The hearing will be held in-person at the Cinnamon Creek Ranch Event Center at 13794 Old Denton Road in Roanoke from 5-7 p.m.
Information will also be available online after 5 p.m. on Thursday.
At full buildout, the targeted section of FM 156 is expected to be six lanes.
TxDOT also plans to improve surrounding intersections and bridges, as well as add bike and pedestrian accommodations.
The department will release specific plans after Thursday, but anticipates no residential or non-residential structures to be displaced as of now.
At the public hearing, which can be viewed online or in-person, TxDOT will provide environmental documentation and studies, maps and drawings, tentative construction schedules and other information regarding the proposed project.
The public will be able to offer input or ask questions online, via email to [email protected], via phone at 214-320-6685 or via mail to Solomon Robelie at the TxDOT Dallas District Office, addressed 4777 East Highway 80, Mesquite, Texas 75150.
