Lewisville ISD names new CFO

Lewisville ISD announced Tuesday the appointment of its new Chief Financial Officer.

Scott Wrehe will replace Paige Meloni as the new LISD CFO; last month, Meloni was named the lone finalist to be superintendent of Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD, near San Antonio.

“I am excited to welcome Mr. Wrehe to Lewisville ISD,” said Dr. Lori Rapp, LISD superintendent. “He is well-equipped to sustain our district’s focus on resource stewardship based on his years of experience in educational finance. We are fortunate to have him as a part of our LISD family.”

Wrehe joins LISD from Keller ISD ,where he has been the CFO since 2020. In Keller, Wrehe oversaw the district’s $340 million General Fund Budget and managed the district’s investments, according to a news release from Lewisville ISD. He also oversaw the district’s Budget & Finance Committee and worked to identify new budget efficiencies.

Prior to his time in Keller, Wrehe served as the Assistant Superintendent for Financial Services at Carroll ISD. In Carroll, in addition to providing oversight for the transportation and child nutrition departments, he assisted in the passing of the district’s 2017 bond and subsequently provided financial oversight for the $208 million Bond program.

Wrehe started his career as a Senior Auditor at Ernst & Young LLP before transitioning into educational finance. Since then, Wrehe has served as a Budget Coordinator and Internal Auditor at Fort Worth ISD, the Director of Accounting at Burleson ISD and the CFO at Joshua ISD. His 26 years of educational finance experience throughout the DFW area have equipped him for this new role, LISD said in a statement.

“Lewisville ISD is a destination district and I am very excited about the opportunity to join this outstanding organization,” Wrehe said. “I look forward to working with the Board of Trustees, Dr. Rapp, the district’s leadership team and staff to continue to be good stewards of the district’s resources and to navigate through the financial challenges that all districts are currently facing.”

Wrehe received his Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas Christian University and is a certified public accountant in Texas. He is a TCU Accounting Advisory Board Member and the former president of the DFW Texas Association of School Business Officials.
