Argyle ISD has named the future elementary school in the Harvest subdivision.
The Argyle ISD Board of Trustees voted Monday night to approve the name Argyle West Elementary for the school, which is expected to open in August for the 2019-20 school year.
In 2017, a $166 million bond was passed to help Argyle ISD to accommodate its growth, which is projected to nearly double in the next five years. The district broke ground in May 2018 on its second elementary school, which will be located at the southwest corner of Old Justin Road and Harvest Way. In December, Argyle Intermediate School Principal Renee Funderburg was chosen to be the principal of the new elementary school.
