Gnome Cones gets approval for permanent status

Gnome Cones, the snow cone stand near Bumbershoot BBQ in Argyle, has received approval to operate as a permanent structure.

Gnome Cones first opened in the spring of 2017 under a six-month seasonal permit, and it operated in the same manner in 2018, according to the town of Argyle. After the 2018 permit expired, Gnome Cones began the process of submitting a site plan and seeking approval to become a permanent merchant.

In the Gnome Cones letter of intent to the town, the owners indicated that they are looking into serving hot chocolate and cookies during the winter, so they can stay open year-round.

Earlier this month, the Argyle Planning & Zoning Commission voted unanimously to recommend approval of the request, with the conditions of removing a nearby parking spot and putting fencing around the seating area. On Tuesday night, the Argyle Town Council approved the Site Plan.
