Flower Mound Town Council members joined Stryker Communications officials and employees on Wednesday for a ribbon cutting at their new facility in the Lakeside Business District.

In 2016, the Flower Mound Town Council approved a measure that would allow Stryker to relocate, but stay in Flower Mound.

A top private employer in Flower Mound, Stryker opened its doors in the Lakeside Business District in 2005 with more than 200 employees.

Council’s approval paved the way for Stryker to expand from approximately 115,000 square-feet to more than 200,000 square-feet and double their headcount to over 400 employees, pouring $200 million into the local economy.

“This isn’t just another warehouse, this is high tech, modern, and most importantly focused on the employees. LEED certified and WELL certified design is obvious in the whole facility,” said Kevin Bryant, Flower Mound Mayor Pro Tem.

As part of the expansion and relocation to a larger facility, Stryker Communications consolidated its Charleston, S.C. and Coppell locations to the new site.

Stryker Communications, a division of Fortune 500 company Stryker Corporation, is a leading medical supply company and utilizes its Flower Mound regional headquarters for sales and marketing, research and development.

In addition, Stryker Communication employees assemble lights used as part of integrated surgical suites, often found in surgery centers.

Stryker Communications was also named one of the “Best 100 Places to Work” by Fortune magazine.
