If a picture’s worth a thousand words, then Grant Griffith is a Van Gogh of the term, “student athlete.”
A member of the Liberty Christian football team who maintains a 4.2 grade point average, Griffith is a very proud and very happy member of the LCS community.
“I like to be involved,” Griffith said. “I like to participate. I love football and track and field. I want to be a leader, and ultimately my goal is to share some of the things I’ve learned in the roles that I play.”
Griffith also competes in the high jump in track and field, where he advanced to the state meet last season, and serves as president of the National Honor Society.
The best part about being a high school student today is the relationships he has developed.
“I honestly enjoy the opportunity to be with all of my friends and meet new people,” Griffith said. “I love be around people and be social.”
And what he enjoys least? No surprise there.
“I would say it is the homework load and the amount of stress that goes into it,” Griffith said. “It’s kind of tough to get it all done sometimes.”
Griffith is starting a new club at LCS called PROS, which stands for Professional Research Opportunities for Success along with fellow student Dara Fuller.
“What we’re doing is bringing in people in different fields of expertise,” Griffith said. “So we’ll bring in a lawyer or doctor to kind of talk about what they do. And then we’re trying to get internship opportunities set up as well so that students can experience beyond the classroom setting.”
Griffith is also an IMPACT leader at Liberty, and is ranked sixth in his graduating class.
He hopes to go to Stanford University.
He said LCS has prepared him well for college and he will always cherish his time at the school.
“I think what I will take away the most is how to be a leader,” Griffith said. “The biggest thing I’ve learned is how to develop and strengthen my relationship with Christ. That’s such a huge part of my life. God has done great things in my life.”
