The Argyle Town Council voted Tuesday to terminate their contract with Rod Hogan, who was serving as interim town manager.
Council members voted 3-2 in favor of severing ties with Hogan, with Joey Hasty, Joan Delashaw and David Wintermute for and Bonny Haynes and Peggy Krueger against.
Hogan was brought in this spring to replace former Town Manager Lyle Dresher who resigned from the position after five years on March 26.
“At this point in time as we are narrowing down the candidates for our new Town Administrator, the governing body is comfortable with our department heads overseeing the daily operations until we select the right candidate for our town,” said Mayor Matt Smith.
Haynes was not pleased with the decision.
“There was no good reason to cancel his contract,” said Haynes. “This was a huge mistake and now the town does not have leadership.”
No specific timeline was given to find a permanent town manager.
