Dennis Song, owner and pharmacist of Flower Mound Pharmacy, received an award for outstanding community service from the Texas Pharmacy Association.
Song was presented the 2012 Bowl of Hygeia Award at the President’s Celebration on July 27 in The Woodlands, TX.
According to a press release from the association, Song has “intensified the dedication and efforts to expand the role of pharmacists in Texas and fostering unity across pharmacy practice areas. He has been an effective statewide leader in promoting the critical goals of advancing the profession and better serving patients. Mr. Song has continued to advocate that pharmacists find commonalties and work together in advancing the scope of practice and increasing clinical outcomes by improving patient adherence.”
Song has served on PediPlace, a community pediatric clinic; served on the United Way of Greater Lewisville; is a member of the Lewisville Rotary International; a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lewisville and president of the Independent Community Pharmacy advisory board.
