Suspect sought in toy store burglary

The Highland Village Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man wanted for questioning in connection to a retail business burglary.

Police said that the Brilliant Sky Toys & Books store in The Shops at Highland Village was broken into on the evening of Thursday, Dec. 23rd, between 10:30 and 11:30 p.m.

Entry was gained via the back door of the business and over $1,000 cash was taken from the store’s safe and cash register.

The suspect, captured on surveillance video, is described as a white male, 40-45 years old, approximately 5′ 10″ to 6 ‘0″ tall, weighing 210-230 pounds, with grayish brown hair short on the sides and back and parted on the right.  The man was wearing light colored blue jeans with tennis shoes, a blue ballcap, and a blue golf-style pullover windbreaker. He appeared to have covered his face with a white “Gaiter” while committing the burglary and traveling to and from his vehicle.

The man was driving a late model white Cadillac STS or CTS four door vehicle with a raised spoiler on the trunk lid.

Anyone with information regarding the identity of the man is urged to call Detective Doug Bell at 972-317-6551 or email dbell@highlandvillage.org. All tips will remain confidential.
