A reception to honor outgoing Deputy Mayor Pro-Tem Dick Cook was held Monday evening prior to the Double Oak Town Council meeting.
Cook has served the town for over 17 years and has held positions on the Planning and Zoning Commission, the Board of Adjustment, as Town Treasurer, Council Member, Deputy Mayor Pro-Tem, Mayor Pro-Tem, and as Mayor for nine years.
Several former Double Oak Mayors and council members, along with County Commissioner Andy Eads, Copper Canyon Mayor Sue Tejml, and representatives from State Senator Chris Harris and State Representative Tan Parker’s office were on hand to honor Cook.
Cook and his wife Georgette have been residents of the town for 25 years.
Returning council member John Dondrea and new council member Gary Garrett were sworn in at the meeting as well.
