The Argyle ISD Education Foundation is gearing up for their annual Black Diamond Affair fundraiser on February 6. This year’s theme is “Absolutely Argyle”, and it will be bigger and better than ever before, according to organizers.
The event is the non-profit organization’s largest fundraiser and features some eye-popping auction items, including:
– Sunday morning behind the scenes with CBS News chief and Washington correspondent Bob Schieffer
– Guitar autographed by the Jonas Brothers
– Free 6 month executive office space lease at Bartonville Town Center
– Tickets to the Super Bowl XLV Concert Series in Dallas
– $2500 cash raffle
Musical Entertainment will be provided by disco-party band, LeFreak.
“Monies raised that evening will support our current programs of classroom grants, teacher and student enrichment grants, and teacher excellence awards, ” said Education Foundation Chairman, Bruce Monroe.
The Argyle ISD Education Foundation raises money through grants, donations and fundraisers to invest in teacher and student programs not otherwise funded by the district.
“The Foundation has been a big help in preparing my UIL academic teams for competition and more importantly, for real world applications,” said Argyle High School teacher Cliff McCurdy.
Over $140,000 was raised at last year’s Black Diamond Affair.
