The Flower Mound High School Performing Arts Department’s production of Oklahoma! received six Dallas Summer Musicals High School Musical Theatre Awards at the ceremony held on May 18 at the Music Hall in Fair Park.
Among those awards received was the top honor of Best Musical.
The DSM High School Musical Theatre Awards has become the second largest program in the country with over 70 schools participating.  Awards were presented in 16 various categories in this 6th annual program that was patterned after Broadway’s Tony Awards.
The Flower Mound High School Performing Arts Department was nominated in 15 of those categories and came away with the win in the following six:
Best Musical
Best Supporting Actor- Chad Sinks
Best Supporting Actress- Bailee Goodman
Best Featured Actress- Simone Brazzini
Best Costume Design
Best Crew and Technical Execution
Matthew Spretz (Senior) also won a $1,000 DSM Ambassador scholarship.
