Basketball Roundup: Argyle advances, Flower Mound teams get bounced

Argyle 66, Roosevelt 36

The Argyle girls basketball team cruised to an area round victory on Friday night, defeating Roosevelt by a score of 66-36 to advance to the regional quarterfinals.

Vivian Gray had a huge night for the Lady Eagles, scoring 30 points in the game, while Delaney Sain added 14 points.

Jesse Sheridan, Jocelyn Pierce, Olivia Gray, Madison Ralston and Allison White combined for 22 points in the game.

The Lady Eagles play Decatur in the regional quarterfinals on Tuesday.

Coppell 63, Flower Mound 62

In spite of a 17-10 fourth quarter run, the Flower Mound boys basketball team came up just short in their game with Coppell this evening, losing by one point to the Cowboys, who claimed the fourth and final playoff spot in district 5-5A.

Connor Green led the Jaguars in scoring with 16 points, while Jake Feickert and John Frischenmeyer added 15 points each.

Colby Cox scored 10 points in the game, and Mike Howard and Wes Robinson combined for six points.

Flower Mound finished 19-13 on the season.

South Grand Prairie 42, Flower Mound 40

The Flower Mound girls could not get past South Grand Prairie in its area round game Friday evening, losing by a bucket.

Lauren Cox led the Lady Jags in scoring with 16 points, while Kayla Mound, Jessie Larson, Kenzie Grill, Courtney Fields and Marin Mills combined for 24 points in the game.

The Flower Mound girls finished 19-12 on the season.

Cleburne 62, Guyer 60

The season came to an end for the Guyer girls basketball team on Friday night, as the Lady Wildcats lost to Cleburne by two points.

Jada Callowa and Quamese Moss each scored 13 points in the game, while Lauren Heard added 12 points.

Olawumi Akinniyi, Bre Wickware, Sarah Mack and Madison Franklin all combined for 22 points in the game.

Guyer finished the season with a 22-6 overall record.
