According to Denton County, Oklahoma police added one charge of unauthorized removal of dead bodies to the list of charges 41-year-old Michael Chadwick Fry of Bartonville is facing.

Officials from Oklahoma added the charge after Fry was connected to an active case in the state from February when an urn of ashes was taken from a cemetery in Oklahoma City.

According to an affidavit from an investigator with the Bartonville Police Department, Fry’s mother found a GPS in his car with three cemetery searches on it, one of which was located in Oklahoma City.

During an interview with investigators, Fry admitted he stole a casket containing remains from a mausoleum in Denton, which Denton police discovered while searching IOOF Cemetery.

Fry also admitted to stealing an urn containing human remains from the cemetery in Oklahoma City.

According to police, Fry would not reveal the location where he buried the remains unless officials gave into his demands.

Investigators said it was “out of [their] realm of reality” to fulfill his wishes.

Officials have located one set of buried remains west of Justin, but the urn of ashes has yet to be found.

Fry was originally arrested after his mother reported to police he had requested money for a U-Haul to move a body.

Investigators monitored Fry and eventually executed a search warrant of his Bartonville residence, where they arrested him.

Fry had allegedly taken the remains he dug up in Denton, put them in a bucket and filmed himself dumping the bones over the fence of the FBI Dallas field office.

In another video, Fry posed with the skull and urn at his home.

According to officials, Fry had taken the remains and the urn of ashes and dumped the bones in order to get authorities to look into what he claimed to be wrongdoing on the part of Denton County officials.

The out-of-state charge was added to the two charges of abuse of a corpse without legal authority and one charge of tampering evidence with intent to impair a human corpse from Bartonville police and Denton County.

Fry remains in custody at the Denton County Jail on a total bond of $70,000, though no bond amount has been listed for the charge out of Oklahoma.
