A man died Thursday morning in a crash on FM 1171, near the I-35W interchange.
At 6:34 a.m., police officers and paramedics responded to a collision involving a motorcycle and Honda Civic at FM 1171 and Cleveland Gibbs. The motorcycle was headed west on FM 1171 and it struck the Civic, which was turning left to head north on Cleveland Gibbs, according to a Northlake Police Department news release.
The motorcyclist was transported by ambulance to a Denton hospital and was pronounced dead about an hour after the crash. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s office has identified the victim as 30-year-old Tyler Morgan of Rhome.
The three occupants of the Civic did not report any injuries, according to Northlake PD. The roadway was shut down until about 10 a.m.
Police are investigating the crash, and “it is too early to determine the exact cause of the accident.”
