Lantana had 159 calls for service for the month of October as of press time. Deputies responded to 25 alarm calls, 35 traffic related calls (which includes traffic stops, traffic complaints, road hazards and traffic accidents) and 80 self-initiated calls.
The Denton County Sheriff’s Office is excited to announce the release of our smartphone app. The app is designed to keep the citizens within Denton County safe by providing the latest updates and information from the Denton County Sheriff’s Office.
Powered by TheSheriffApp.com, the app greets users with a streamlined main menu to allow for seamless navigation of the app’s many features. Some of those features include an inmate search, general jail information, a map of sex offender locations, the top 10 most wanted list, Sheriff’s Office contacts, the ability to submit a tip to Crime Stoppers and current job openings with links to apply. The app also provides users with alerts and notifications on emergencies or events that may impact their area.
With this app, we are excited to use this technology to better inform the public and make information easily accessible. The app will enable us to send push notifications and alert messages directly to our citizens allowing them to receive real-time information. We will be able to inform citizens of the services and programs implemented by the Denton County Sheriff’s Office.
The app will also show available information on individuals incarcerated in the Denton County Jail. An inmate’s family and friends can check their status and receive information about the inmate through the app as well as access detailed instructions on commissary, mail, and how to put money on the inmate’s account.
