In November, Flower Mound voters will decide to keep or kill the Street Maintenance Sales and Use Tax.
The tax — the money from which is used exclusively on street projects — has been authorized many times periodically by the voters, and it again needs reauthorization from the voters. The tax is a rate of one-fourth of one percent. On Aug. 5, the Flower Mound Town Council unanimously approved the ordinance for the special election to be held on Nov. 5.
“Every city has more street projects than they do money,” said Town Manager Jimmy Stathatos. “This special sales tax helps provide sizable impact to our street needs.”
