
The town of Argyle is asking residents to volunteer to serve on town boards.
Residents can submit applications to be members of the Planning & Zoning Commission and the Economic Development Corporation. The Argyle Town Council will then appoint applicants to the boards. Appointments are two years long and begin Nov. 1. The deadline to submit applications is Sept. 20.
The Planning & Zoning Commission meets the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at Argyle Town Hall. The seats currently held by Gordon Baethge, Rick Bradford and Leona McDade expire this year. P&Z has the power and duty to prepare and recommend for adoption a master plan for the future development and redevelopment of the town and shall have the power and duty to prepare and recommend a comprehensive plan and zoning ordinance for the town, according to the town website.
The Economic Development Corporation meets the second Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. at Argyle Town Hall. The seats currently held by Ritchie Deffenbaugh, Jose Grimaldo, Shelton Dunn and Pamela Minick are expiring this year. The EDC was established for the promotion and development of commercial enterprises in the town and its ETJ, as well as for the administration of the economic development sales tax revenue.
