Local preschools raise funds, deliver donations to fire stations

Students at Primrose School of NE Flower Mound and Old Orchard raised money to donate sports drinks and grocery store gift cards to Lewisville Fire Station 3 and Flower Mound Fire Station 1.

Students at two local preschools raised funds and used them to provide donations to local fire stations.

The Primrose School of NE Flower Mound and the Primrose School of Old Orchard spent class time preparing snacks and baked goods to sell to Primrose families at pick-up time, and there was a teacher carwash to earn more donations, according to a news release from Primrose Schools. All the funds raised were used to purchase sports drinks and grocery store gift cards to give to the local fire firefighters who had visited the schools as part of Primrose’s “Get Ready, Get Safe!” summer theme.

Students from both schools recently delivered more than 20 packs of sports drinks and more than $250 in grocery store gift cards to their local fire stations; Old Orchard delivered them to Lewisville Fire Station 3, and NE Flower Mound delivered to Flower Mound Fire Station 1.

The “Get Ready, Get Safe!” Summer Theme at Primrose gives students the opportunity to thank first responders serving our community while learning the meaning of citizenship and gratitude and learning more about emergency preparedness.
