Argyle Police Department to offer inaugural Citizens Police Academy

The Argyle Police Department announced Monday that it is offering its first annual Citizens Police Academy this summer.

The academy is a 10-week program that will give residents a working knowledge of the police department, including recruiting, training, patrol, traffic and crime scene procedures.

“Our hope is that the information presented at the CPA will inform the community about how police operate and why they do what they do,” the town’s website says. “Informed citizens can make the officers more aware of their concerns and needs.”

The academy will be held on Mondays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. It is open to adults who live in or work in Argyle. Class size is limited to 12 people, and applications are due by July 22. To apply, complete this application online and email it to [email protected] or mail it or bring it to:
