Trees are being trimmed this week along Highland Village Road to allow for clearance for tall vehicles, according to a news release from the city of Highland Village.
The city has contracted with a certified arborist, Arbor Masters, to raise the canopy to 14 feet along the roadway from Edgewood to south of the KCS railroad crossing. Oak trees won’t be trimmed, and dead trees will be removed.
The work began Wednesday and will take about one week, weather permitting, according to the city. Crews will be directing traffic in the areas they’re working, and drivers should use caution and expect slow-downs.
