New principal approved for Downing Middle School

The Lewisville ISD Board of Trustees approved this week three new principals, including one for Downing Middle School.

Curtis Martin will be the new principal at Downing for the 2019-20 school year. He is replacing Lisa Lingren, who is retiring.

Martin currently serves as principal of Hicks Elementary in Frisco, a position he has held since 2011, and has more than 20 years of experience in public education. Martin earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Oklahoma State University, a Master of Science in Geography from Texas A&M University and a Master of Education in Educational Administration from the University of North Texas. He holds Principal (EC-12) and Secondary Social Studies Composite (6-12) certifications, according to Lewisville ISD.

The LISD Board also approved Rebecca Chirinos, currently an assistant principal at Southridge Elementary in Lewisville, to be the next principal at Peters Colony Elementary in The Colony, and Patrick Guy, currently the principal of Ashworth Elementary in Arlington ISD, to be the next principal at Rockbrook Elementary in Lewisville.
