Severe storms expected in Denton County early Wednesday morning

The National Weather Service forecast for early Wednesday morning

The National Weather Service has forecast severe storms in much of North Texas — including Denton County — early Wednesday morning.

A line of storms will spread into the area from the west late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, according to the NWS forecast. A few storms could become severe with damaging winds and possibly an isolated tornado. Locally heavy rain may also produce flooding in some areas. Storms will exit to the east during the day Wednesday, followed by dry and breezy conditions.

The main hazard will be damaging winds, according to the weather service. The greatest threat of severe storms will be along and west of I-35. The potential for tornadoes and large hail is low.
