The Double Oak Town Council plans to reduce the town’s residents’ property tax rate with a decision on Monday.
The council is calling a meeting at 7 p.m. Monday to approve the 2018-19 fiscal year budget and to lower the property tax rate from $0.2324 to $0.23, according to a town news release.
“The budget allows the town to fund public safety and town operations,” said Mayor Mike Donnelly. “Double Oak does not have any bond or bank debt and our municipal property tax rate is one of the overall lowest in Denton County and North Texas. I am proud of the fiscal conservative budget that town council, staff and residents have worked on since June which allows the town to cut the property tax rate for our residents and businesses.”
