Several people were injured in a major head-on crash Monday evening on Hwy 377 between FM 1171 and Hwy 114.
About 5:45 p.m. in the 2200 block of North Hwy 377, a northbound vehicle swerved head-on into a vehicle that was headed south, according to a Roanoke Police Department news release.
A witness said the pickup in front of her, which was towing a trailer, suddenly swerved into the southbound lanes apparently to avoid striking the car in front of it, which had just come to a stop because of traffic backup caused by the traffic light at FM 1171.
Five men were injured in the crash, according to police. A 22-year-old man and a 41-year-old man were taken to a Denton hospital for treatment, and the other three men — ages 22, 36 and 49 — were taken to a Grapevine hospital.
Police were still investigating the crash Tuesday afternoon.
