Flower Mound Road was closed for about an hour-and-a-half Monday morning because of a gas leak caused by a car crash.

A vehicle crashed through a brick wall surrounding a power substation at McKamy Creek and Woodhill Drive, rupturing a 4-inch pipe riser and subsequently causing a gas leak, according to the town of Flower Mound. While crews worked to seal the leak, access to adjacent neighborhoods was restricted.

Flower Mound Road from FM 2499 to Old Settlers Road was shut down around 8 a.m. In a 9:30 a.m. update, the town said CoServ has turned off the gas to the impacted line and will remain on site to seal the pipe. Access to the surrounding neighborhoods and businesses, as well as any subsequent road closures were re-opened.
