Denton County Commissioner candidate Jim Carter has earned the much-sought after endorsement of Commissioner Andy Eads.
The Precinct 4 Commissioner seat is being vacated by Eads who is running unopposed for the Republican nomination for Denton County Judge.
“After observing all the candidates in elected office and evaluating their effectiveness, it was clear Jim Carter has the experience, vision and conservative values needed to keep Denton County moving in the right direction,” said Eads. “He will be a great partner helping me keep taxes low, ushering in new jobs and protecting our quality of life. I ask all Republicans to join me in supporting Jim Carter for County Commissioner.”
Carter, a Bartonville resident, is seeking the nomination to run for the position he held from 1999-2006. He lost his re-election bid in 2006 to Eads.
Carter has also been endorsed by Judge Mary Horn, Constable Tim Burch, the mayors of Cooper Canyon, Double Oak, Justin, Roanoke and Trophy Club and numerous current and former council members.
The Primary Elections will be held on Tuesday, March 6. Early Voting runs Tuesday, February 20 through Friday, March 2.
