Flower Mound Animal Services ran a fundraiser last month to help cover non-budgeted expenses, and residents donated nearly six times the fundraiser’s goal.
The town department that runs the Flower Mound Animal Adoption Center ran its annual “Paws and Claws” fundraiser, setting a goal of $500 for the town’s Animal Care Fund.
Residents donated $2,937 to the fundraiser, according to the town of Flower Mound on Thursday.
The Animal Care Fund is used to cover non-budgeted expenses, like when the adoption center takes in an injured pet needing medical treatment. The fundraiser came at a good time, because in less than 24 hours in early December, the adoption center took in two dogs with serious injuries, something that usually only happens once a year.
