Local crews treated the roads Thursday in advance of a band of sleet headed toward North Texas.
According to the National Weather Service forecast on Thursday afternoon, sleet and maybe a little snow is expected to fall in the Flower Mound area between 5-6 p.m. Little to no accumulation is expected, but it could cause some slick spots on bridges and overpasses.
The Flower Mound Fire Department shared a video on social media of a Public Works truck pre-treating bridges in the town to help prevent that threat of slick spots. Crews will monitor the situation throughout the night.
Drivers are urged to drive cautiously during and after the winter weather moves through the area.
