Dozens of firefighters responded to a large barn fire near FM 2499 in Flower Mound on Monday afternoon.
The fire, near the intersection of Waketon Road and FM 2499, was reported at 3:10 p.m., and the barn was “fully involved” when firefighters arrived, said Brandon Barth, a Flower Mound Fire Department spokesman.
FMFD had 30 firefighters on scene and they were able to get the fire under control quickly, Barth said. Lewisville and Highland Village firefighters assisted.
Firefighters found about 50 dead chickens in what was the barn, Barth said. It was not immediately known what caused the fire.
