The summer real estate market is HOT! And I don’t just mean that there are lots of people buying and selling during the summer months. Meeting clients and showing properties when it’s 100+ degrees outside is literally hot! So, I’m always on the lookout for a light, cold and refreshing treat after a full day of helping clients.
A few weeks ago in our post about Downtown Grapevine, we mentioned a local shop on Main Street called HipPop – one of our new favorite spots to go get a cold treat! HipPop was founded by husband-and-wife team Ben Bates and Rosy Gurung, in 2010 when they got the idea to create some more “adult” frozen pops, taking cues from cocktail mixologists in the way they combine fresh fruit juices and herbs.
After serving their creative concoctions out of a cart at the Dallas Farmers Market for a couple of years, Ben and Rosy finally opened their brick and mortar store off Main Street in Grapevine in 2013!
And if the name HipPop reminds you of a certain genre of music, that’s exactly what Ben and Rosy are going for! When you step inside their store in Grapevine, you’re greeted by a whole array of throwback and current hip hop and rap songs. And all of their flavor names hearken to famous musicians and well-known jams.
Some of our favorite flavor names include: Kiwi Lamar (kiwi & lime), Ice Ice Berry (Strawberry Lemonade) and Insane in the Membrane (Mango & Habanero).
HipPop serves an assortment of unique pop flavors – all of which are made with freshly juiced fruit, organic sugar and filtered water. You can choose from any of their fruit-based or milk-based flavors with options like: Pina Colada, Strawberry Basil, Cookies and Cream and Key Lime Pie.

In addition to their pops, HipPop also serves up DELICIOUS slushes and shaved ice.

When it comes to their shaved ice, you can choose one of their natural shaved ice options like White Peach and OPP (blood orange, passion fruit and pomegranate) or one of their Hawaiian options like Cotton Candy, Orange Dreamsicle, and even Pickle Juice! If you order shaved ice, we’d also highly recommend you include one of their add-ins which include ice cream, condensed milk, and coconut cream.

This is truly the perfect pit stop on a hot day like today. Plus it’s in a great location with lots to explore around it! So, take the whole crew over to HipPop this weekend to cool everyone off and enjoy some unique and tasty treats!
