The long-anticipated Flower Mound Dog Park is under construction and the canine residents of the area need your help. The town needs a name for the park and is asking Flower Mound citizens for their help.
To participate in the contest, visit www.flower-mound.com/dogparkname and make a suggestion.
The person that submits the winning name will receive a doggie-themed gift basket and a three-month membership to the Community Activity Center. All entries must be submitted by Sunday, September 20.
The Dog Park Naming committee will recommend their favorite submission to the Parks, Arts, and Library Services (PALS) Board for consideration. The PALS Board will then send their recommendation to the Town Council for final approval.
The 5-acre dog park is located within Heritage Park– on Garden Ridge Boulevard between Spinks Road and FM 3040– and will include designated areas for large and small dogs, black vinyl fencing, a seating area with drinking fountain, pet waste stations, and a 40-stall parking lot.
The dog park is expected to be completed by the end of November. For more information about the dog park, visit the Parks Improvement webpage.
