I am writing in response to your article on the front page of the July issue regarding FM park improvements. What the article didn’t go into was the fact that most residents who live near Rheudasil Park DO NOT want a restroom built at Rheudasil Park. The mayor held an informational community meeting in November, where several residents spoke about not wanting the restroom built. My husband attended the town council meeting when they approved the bathroom being built and stated that approximately 40 people spoke against the bathroom and maybe three spoke for it. I wish the town would reconsider this. I feel that the bathroom would be an eyesore and a potential area for criminal activity. Rheudasil Park is a small park and most people who go there are residents who live nearby and have bathrooms in their homes. Please ask the residents how they feel about this issue. On the other hand, I am pleased to hear that there are plans to dredge the pond and improve the sidewalks.
