The Denton Guyer baseball team got off to a strong start in its bi-district round series against Saginaw Friday, winning 14-0 on the strength of 12 hits and the pitching of winner Kyle Vochoska.
Cole Wessling doubled, Reid Battles doubled and tripled, and Tristan Brown collected two triples for the Wildcats.
The teams meet again tomorrow at 4 p.m. at Guyer’s home field for Game 2. If necessary, Game 3 is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday, also at Guyer.
