The Argyle football team trailed 21-3 in the second quarter of their regional round match up with Carthage on Friday night, but rallied to win 35-34 and advance to the state quarter finals.
Cole Hedlund got things going for the Eagles with a 29-yard field goal in the first quarter.
After surrendering three unanswered touchdowns, Argyle (11-1, 5-0) buckled down and scored on a 1-yard run from Chadd Bossow and a 25-yard Hedlund field goal to make it 21-13 at Half.
The Eagles tied it up in the third on a 20-yard pass to Bossow from Austin Aune and two-point conversion run from Ian Sadler.
Carthage regained the lead in the fourth quarter, but with just under four minutes left to play, Aune scored on a 5-yard run to make it 28-28 heading into over time.
In the second over time, Argyle scored on a 9-yard run from Sadler and Hedlund kick.
While Carthage answered with a touchdown of its own, a failed PAT sealed the victory for Argyle.
Bossow run for 133 yards in the game for the Eagles.
Argyle will square off with the winner of the Van Alstyne/Gilmer game at a time and date to be determined.
