Several hundred people lined up Thursday night at the Best Buy in Flower Mound to cash in on doorbuster deals when the store opened at midnight.
The electronics retailer was tempting earlybirds with items such as a flat screen TV for $199.99.
Nearby, diehard shoppers queued up at Target in Flower Mound and Super WalMart in Highland Village to kick off the busy shopping day.
Many national retailers opened earlier than ever before this year to draw in Black Friday shoppers.
