Lantana Cub Scouts Pack 802 joined forces with Lantana Boy Scouts Troop 99 on Saturday, Feb. 19th, to collect non perishable food items from area residents for Nelson Children’s Center in Denton during the second annual “Lantana Scouting for Food Drive”.
The scouts collected a record breaking 903 cans, 128 pounds of rice and 269 boxes of food, according to Pack 802 PR Chair, Sheela Kadam Bailey.
Leaders reported that the event was well attended by scouts from both groups and that they were proud of the boys’ achievement and service to the community.
