A southern Denton County teen has taken the top spot for cheerleaders in the state of Texas.

Paulina Bracker, who graduates from Marcus High School just this month, earned the award for Best Cheerleader of TX for 5A 6A divisions. She has been competitively cheerleading for 14 years.

She also won the NCA Top All American best cheerleader title at NCA cheer camp this year.

Bracker was the head captain of the MHS Varsity Cheer Squad, and has also been captain for the freshman and JV teams during her high school years. She also won a leadership award at the most recent MHS cheer banquet.

Though high school has ended for Bracker, her cheerleading career will not be ending anytime soon. She will attend Oklahoma State University in the fall and will cheer with the school’s large co-ed cheer team.

Bracker begins representing OSU this coming week, making special appearances in her OSU cheer uniform for a variety of events.
