Just a quick reminder of some weekend events coming up over the next two days:
Saturday, June 6
The “CARS and COFFEE” car show and fundraiser is being held to benefit the Double Oak Police Department for a new portal defibrillator. If you have a classic car you can bring it or just come and check out the others.’ A minimum donation of $10 is being requested if you want to enter your car to display. The event goes from 9 a.m. to noon at the Downing Middle School parking lot on Waketon Road.
Concert in the Park featuring Random Axis. This free event will be from 7-9 p.m. at Heritage Park in Flower Mount.
Celebrate Highland Village is happening at Unity Park. The fun includes a 1K/5K run through the city, an Arbor Day proclamation and a family fish-out. Unfortunately, the evening events have been canceled due to high water levels at Pilot Knoll Park. Registration for the run starts at 6:30 a.m.
Lantana has an open house planned from 1:30 to 4 p.m. at Lantana Golf Club. They’ll have a bounce house, balloons, face painting, tours of the club, golf clinics and golf scramble.
Mornings with the Mayor is scheduled from 8-10 a.m. at Lone Tree Park for residents of Flower Mound. This was rescheduled from May 9.
