Raising Cane’s to hold fundraiser in memory of Flower Mound teen

As the Town of Flower Mound grieves over the tragic loss of teenager Kasey Waychoff, the local Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers is doing its part to honor her memory.

On Thursday, March 27, the Raising Cane’s on FM 407 in Flower Mound will donate 100% of its net proceeds from 5 – 9 p.m. to the new scholarship fund established at Oklahoma State University, where Waychoff was a sophomore.

In addition, the restaurant will be collecting donations from customers from Thursday through Sunday, March 30th.

“I am so proud to be a part of the Flower Mound community,” said Lupe Villarreal, Managing Partner of the local Raising Cane’s, during Tuesday’s baseball game between Marcus and Flower Mound High Schools.  “I know we are all hurting with Kasey’s passing and our thoughts and prayers are with her family.  To honor her memory, we want to raise as much money as possible for her scholarship fund at Oklahoma State.”

Customers are invited to stop by Raising Cane’s in Flower Mound throughout the weekend to contribute to the fund.  No purchase is necessary.

Raising Cane’s is located at 3205 Justin Road in Flower Mound, across from Walmart.
